Transit swivel seat

Top quality product, Not a five minute job, to get it to fit correctly, but works very well, hard to find instructions which you definitely need

Successful install of drivers swivel seat

Fitted into a 2021 Transit Custom, didn't need to lower the battery, fits without moving / lowering.

Removing the bolts and drilling holes for the handbrake lowering kit was relatively easy - using new angle grinder disks and drill bits.

No removal of seat trim necessary, as with all swivel seats raising the seat before swivel and putting seat back forward makes the movement possible.

We have a fixed passenger double seat (at the moment) and the driver seat can swivel.

The products are nicely made but area real pain to fit with no instructions included, worst of all the passenger seat does not swivel because of the side cowls on the seat, another 10mm of clearance would have cleared this and now I need to make custom spacers to get around it without cutting the seat trims

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the passenger seat not swiveling due to the side trims - i appreciate it is probabaly too late now for you now but we do in fact supply instructions on the products page (section is labelled 'Downloads') as a pdf with full notes about the side trim. There is also a QR code on the product packaging that links to the manufacturers instructions. Hopefully they will at least now give you a reference to check that you have assembled it all correctly. Designed for a right-hand drive Ford Transit Custom 1st Gen V362 (2013–2023). It will also fit the Ford Transit Mk 8 V363 (2014–present) and the Ford Tourneo Custom. All necessary bolts required for fitting are provided.

Don’t skip the details — read through the fitting notes below, as well as the compatibility and technical information sections to ensure this swivel fits your van!

Notes on fitting the driver swivel:

RIB advises that a handbrake modification is required to fit the swivel; the necessary bracket is included. When fitting this, note that some vans have the original bolts welded in. If yours does, they’ll need to be cut and drilled out. Additionally, the metal bracket that secures the handbrake gaiter to the floor must be removed. Because the handbrake cable runs through this bracket, you’ll need to either cut the bracket or detach the cable to complete the installation.

RIB also recommend relocating the battery. Please note, we have received customer feedback suggesting that lowering the battery slightly may be a workable alternative. While we haven’t tested this ourselves, it may be worth considering. The battery sits in a plastic box supported by square plastic blocks, and trimming these blocks can lower the battery by about 2–3 cm, which may provide enough clearance for the swivel to fit. If you try this approach, we’d love to hear how it works for you.

Lastly, this swivel installs between the seat sliders and the original seat base. If necessary, the rear outer corners of the slider rails can be trimmed to prevent interference with the plastic door trim during rotation.

General note on driver swivels: A driver’s swivel will not rotate fully if your van has a fixed double passenger seat, (unless a swivel plate is also installed under the double seat).

To rotate the seat, the engine must be turned off, vehicle put in gear and the handbrake released temporarily.
If your seat has height adjustment, you may need to raise it slightly before rotation to avoid it catching on anything.
If you have a plastic handbrake cover then you may have to remove it and replace with our fabric slip-on cover.
Once the seat is facing the rear, re-engage handbrake.
