Employing an Apprentice

We’re proud to be a Keighley based business offering innovative campervan conversion products, and have been helping customers to fit out their vans since 2005.

Many of our loyal customers will know that we’re an online retailer with the philosophy of putting our customers first.  Well...we also believe in the importance of apprenticeships, and have been recruiting students since 2017. As a business we find it really valuable to offer fantastic work experience and hands-on training so students can literally earn whilst they learn.

Deciding what to do when leaving school can be a tough one… should you enter the workplace with an apprenticeship or go to university?  Of course, there are benefits to each option, but our attitude is that an apprenticeship is an equal alternative to university and have found them to be mutually beneficial and rewarding.

Marika Mazur is the company’s third trainee. The 17-year-old lives in Keighley and attends Keighley College studying Business Administration.

Having already successfully undertaken 5 months of her apprenticeship, Marika will continue to gain valuable work experience here at Kiravans as Business Administrator and day release at Keighley College.

Rob McCandless, Kiravans Director, comments “At Kiravans an apprenticeship makes a real difference to our working environment… fresh thinking, proactivity, new perspective….It is vital for us to develop our staff, tap into unlocked potential and help increase the confidence and skills of individuals in our niche sector.”

At the end of their apprenticeships all of our trainees have moved into full time roles within the business.  A win-win situation all round, whilst we continue to expand our campervan parts business.
