Great product

Really good product, tools needed are a bit more than what I'd call basic but pretty easy to fit. I didnt have the proper bit to remove the original nuts but a t55 worked OK, all of them were rusted up so long bar was needed, I had to beat down the small raised bit of the floor of the van as others have said they did, the matting needed a fair bit of trimming down, then a 17mm and 19mm socket were needed to fit the seats back on, the plastic trim in the footwell and carpet needed trimming too.
The swivel action takes a minute to get used to but it's made a massive difference to the space in my van. So a little fiddly but 100% worth it, took me a morning to fit.
Kiravan themselves have been amazing, cannot fault their customer service and the base itself is beautifully made and feels strong and heavy. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant bit of kit. I had to make a few alterations and trimming out due to my floor in the back being 35mm higher than normal. The unit it’s self is fantastic!

Nice swivel, but needs some improvement

The item was delivered quickly and is a well constructed bit of kit so my 3 star rating is aimed for at the company than the swivel.
Despite comments on the reviews about the washers being to small, I've had to highlight to kiravans that the washers were not right, they are to small for the seat mounting holes and just pull straight through. They refunded £20 for me to sort it out myself, to which I pointed out, If I didn't know what I was doing I could stick any old washers on and might not be fit for purpose. I hope they have now resolved this issue and don't just pass the issue onto the customer.
Unfortunately the instructions are very vague. With a little more detail they could make it a lot easier for the customer to install the swivel
Lastly, the mechanism works well, but take care when manuouvering the seat around as it can catch the side pillar and damage the trim.

As a direct result of you highlighting this issue, we removed this product from sale for several weeks while we resolved the washers issue with the manufacturer.

It's excellent and worth the money. Uncomplicated and effective in installation, design and operation. And it has the lowest possible profile.

But don't get confused by the instructions! It's not the rear two **** which hold the swivel in the rotated (rear-facing) position... actually it's the rear nearside and front offside (diagonal). A minor thing but it led silly old me down the garden path enough for me to ring Kiravans and sound like a proper muppet.

TIP - the Ford bolts fixing our double seat to the chassis were Ribe M11 and I couldn't source that bit in time... TORX 55 worked OK, with care.

Like others I had to beat down the 1cm high ridge in the floor for the offside rear corner so it sits flat. Good few smacks with a plastic faced club-hammer was all it needed. Neighbours thought I'd lost it, obv.

I needed to use my own washers for fixing the seat to the top plate, as those supplied were useless, but again, negligible. And yes, nylon nuts feel better.

Big White Box now feels palatial.

Ford Transit MK 7 Passanger seat swivel. Fabulous!

I bought the Ford Transit MK 7 passange seat swivel in early Aug 2020. It arrived next day as promised. The item was well packaged and suprisingly heavy. I found it to be well designed and manufactured. I was expecting to have some problem installing the swivel base but found the installation to be relatively straight forward. Although I had to cut a section of the rubber floor covering this was expected. However, bonus my floor didn't have the raised section so no panel beating required to get the base to sit flat. Therefor it was unpacked, fited and working in 45 mins. All in all a great piece of kit. Note to Kiravans. I fitted Nylock nuts to the four handwheel bolts so the nuts kept their position meaning less messing about when locking and unlocking the swivel.

This has changed my living space in the Van and is a great bit of kit. But I would say that their is a lot of cutting to the rubber floor mat to sit there correctly and I had to hammer one metal ridge down flat to fit it flush to the floor then it fits perfect. The washers that came with it (the ones that attach the seat to the base) wasn't big enough as the holes on the seat were just as big as them. So I had to get bigger ones which was no biggy, cost 50p for four. Other than that it's great.

A recent addition to our range of double seat swivels is this model for the Ford Transit MK7 (3rd generation pre the 2014 ‘Custom’ release) with original double seats. Hopefully our Ford Transit double seat swivel will help owners get even more use out of their vans.

The swivel mechanism is very different to normal single swivels. It uses a cunning slide and swivel approach so you will need to open the side door to allow the full range of movement. The seat is held securely in position while driving by 4 x specially engineered locking bolts.

Kiravans Transit design swivel meets the safety requirements of the latest EU Regulations. It has passed seat belt anchorage safety tests conducted by STATUS (The Specialist Testing Facility at Manchester Met Uni) using a pull test on a specialist test rig to EC Directive 76/115/EEC as amended by 2005/41/EEC.

Notes on fitting:

In some variants, you will find that under the rear off-side swivel floor fixing point, runs a 1cm high & wide ridge in the transit floor pressing which needs to panel beaten down so that the swivel sits flush to the floor. You could, of course, use washers to raise the floor to match this raised ridge but beating it down works best as it keep the overall seat height as low as possible.

  • Self-levelling design to counteract sloping cab floor, making rotated seat actually comfortable to sit on!
