Pretty happy with the job & it's a significant improvement, but insulating & lining my Vito has not been an easy job, with so many ribs & scalloping to work around and doing it outside in the weather has also been a limiting factor with 4 doors (still have one more side door to finish) - be sure to start on the simplest panel - you'll get better as you go !
I was also not aware the insulation role was only 1 mitre wide (unlike the lining which is 2m), so I barely had enough and the sticky doesn't go all the way to the edge (but I got there, just !).
The warning about needing lots of fresh blades should be taken seriously - the lining material is surprisingly tough to slice, e.g. for windows and holes (scissors are better when you can).With the angles on the Vito, a lot of care is also needed to ensure the lining is properly aligned before you start gluing.

Our 4-way stretch carpet lining is the easiest campervan lining to work with and it's perfect for DIY conversions. It has always been our most popular carpet lining as it is pliable and stretchy allowing you to work around all the tricky corners and curves of your van such as the wheel arch and windows with the most ease.

Some professionals prefer 'Veltrim' as it is thicker and more 'dense' but it does not stretch. This means that you have to cut pieces to fill curved gaps and to work around the wheel arches. It's all just a bit more hassle matching pieces up for a marginally better finish - and you could end up making it look worse if not done well!

Please watch the video before ordering and if you are planning to out-source the lining job, confirm with your fitter how much lining carpet they require. Colours can vary slightly between rolls, so to ensure you get one complete cut from the same roll, we recommend ordering enough in one go.

How much do I need?

We recommend roughly 10 metres of carpet lining to line a short wheel base VW T5/T6 van (including headlining). If you're lining a long wheel base van we recommend 15 metres. You will also need some high-temperature adhesive and the best formula we have found is to work on 1 can per metre length of carpet.

Note on quantities supplied:

This carpet lining is stocked in 10-metre and 5-metre rolls at our warehouse. For example, if you order 15 metres, you will receive one 10-metre roll and one 5-metre roll, rather than a single continuous piece. An 18-metre order will be supplied as one 10-metre roll and one 8-metre roll, while an 11-metre order will consist of a 10-metre roll and a 1-metre piece, and so on.
